Let's brainstorm together!
1. Sit anywhere for the day.
2. Picnic lunch outside.
3. Paint outside (I peg paper to the chainlink fence. Children trade paint colours.)
4. Sidewalk chalk messages to the neighbourhood.
5. Make a card for next year's students with your favourite thing about this year.
I love this idea, I work in a preschool and we do a ABC countdown til summer. But doing this right before the new school year starts sounds like a fin idea

May be a dumb question, but how do you get the air to stay in all the balloons for all of the days? Wouldn't the balloons towards the end of the count down have gone down a lot? I REALLY want to do this, but just thought of this issue... ;-)

Love the idea!! How about make a paper airplane and then have a flying contest. Who can blow the biggest bubble contest. I also thought about letting the kids brainstorm a few of their own ideas to add to the balloons.

I started this idea this past Monday with my 5th graders. The balloons represent the last 23 day of school and correspond with the student's classroom number. They are all guessing what their balloon might say. It is so much fun to hear them cheer the first two days.

Started this today with my fourth graders. Last week I gave each student a slip of paper to write down one fun activity. I went through the ideas and placed the reasonable ideas in the balloons.
I am a bit confused so when I pop the balloon is it for that particular day or the next day. I am doing a 10 day count down or it doesn't really matter?
I always popped the baloon the day before the kiddos went home, that way if it was something they would be bringing in or dressing up for (such as PJ day or game day) they knew what to plan for, as well as anticipate the next event! Hope this helps!! Jackie
